The story so far....
Feel like doing something a bit different ? The old 'once in a lifetime' routine ?
We did.
Before I continue any further, for those who do not know us - my name is Morgan
Rogers, and my partner in crime is Kate Williams
(who will be making more than one appearence on the photos below.)
We live in Hertfordshire, England and this is the first attempt at a website, so please be patient !
Back to the plot -
I had been wanting for sometime to do a trip on motorcycles -
something fun, something exciting and something out of the way.
I do not remember how I first came accross the
IncaMoto
website, although timing wise I
guess it must have been around September 1998. I remember thinking 'Oooh , that sounds good'
and promptly began work on Katie (who did not yet know she had a yearning for Peru....!)
After some discussion , I began a long-lasting e-mail relationship with
Flavio Salvetti ,
the owner/manager of .
Inca Moto Adventures.
Flavio could not have been more helpful. I must have asked a hundred questions - 'Do I need
to bring this? Do I need to bring that? Are we collected from the airport ? Are flights included ?
Can Katie alternate between riding pillion and riding in the truck ? - On and on the questions went,
and to his credit Flavio (over several e-mails) answered every one of them.
At last the time came to put our money where our mouths were - I wired the 30%(?) deposit, not knowing
if I would ever see it again, or if Flavio would mysteriously disappear never to be traced. I could already
see myself on 'Watchdog'....
That then, was that. The day was set (May 8th 1999) and the flights were booked (~£500ea from London to Lima)
and all we could do was wait...
